Mosley vows to force Pacquiao into defensive mode
May 7 is less than 2 weeks away. Even though “Sugar” Shane Mosley says he will land big punches early in the fight, Manny Pacquiao says he is ready for what can be an epic battle.
“I work hard for this training camp and he work hard to so that's good, good for the fans, we're going to give them a good fight,” Pacquiao says.
In a telephone conference call with the media recently, Mosley said he'll force the usually aggressive Pacman to become a defensive fighter by landing the big punches early.
Mosley, who knocked out Pacquiao's last foe Antonio Margarito in 2009, is confident he has enough speed to upset the Pacman.
“I know Margarito landed the most punches ever on Manny Pacquiao. So if Margarito is fast enough to land punches on Manny Pacquiao, then I know I'm fast enough to land punches on Manny Pacquiao,” the 39 year-old American said.
Mosley even joked about the Pacman's new CD which will be released on Thursday. He says he's excited to hear it, saying it might bring him good luck.
"Yeah, last time I had fought a person with a CD was when I fought Oscar in 2000, and he came out with a CD and he came in the ring with the CD and I won the fight and things are looking good for me right now," he says.
In the meantime, the Pacman is hoping another singer can bring him luck as well—hand picking Charice Pempengco to sing the Philippine national anthem.
“Magaling na singer at para maikilala s'ya sa buong bayan Pilipino at sa makita ang galing niya magkanta,” the boxing champ says.
(She's a very good singer and we like to introduce her to the world, to show how talented she is.)
