Perhaps unbeknownst to Mosley, however, just one day after he began his war of words on Twitter, Congressman Pacquiao deleted his own account, @CongMP, after being heavily criticized for comments that he made regarding his absence during the House impeachment proceeding of Ombudsman Meceditas Gutierrez. For that reason, the verbal attack that Mosley continues to direct towards the eight-division world champion has gone largely unnoticed. Furthermore, it's unclear as to whether or not the comments being made are directly from Mosley himself. Last Tuesday, a press release was sent out by a company called Ad.ly, who revealed their intention of securing endorsements deals for Mosley by leveraging social media to engage fans on Twitter.
"For the first time, fans are part of the pre-fight battle of wits and can directly connect with the world's top boxers on Twitter," said Arnie Gullov-Singh, CEO of Ad.ly. "Shane could win this fight before it even starts, and brands want to associate themselves with this moment in history." According to the press release, the company was already in discussions with brands that want to work with Mosley for endorsements on Twitter. So is this pre-fight smack talk really Mosley's feelings towards Pacquiao, or is it simply a cheap means to try and drum up more interest in the fight?
