Round 10: Cotto is simply surviving, jabbing as much to keep Pacquiao off of him as to win. Pacquiao stays in his face, firing his right jab, and looking as fresh as the first round. Pacquiao takes a deep breath and drops his hands, but Cotto doesn't take advantage. Cotto jabs twice, but takes a two-punch, and then, a three-punch combination along the ropes before the bell. Pacquiao's round, 10-9

Round 11: The crowd chants Pacquiao's name to start the round. Pacquiao moves in behind his jab. Cotto's trunks are read with his own blood. Trapped in Pacquiao's corner, Cotto takes a seven-punch combination. Cotto continues to back-peddle in survival mode. Pacquiao drills two right hands home. Pacquiao drops his hands at the end of the round as if to say, "Fight me." Pacquiao's round, 10-9

Pacquiao vs Cotto Live Stream: Wrong move, Pacquiao

Watch Pacquiao vs Cotto Live Stream! Wrong move, Manny Pacquiao.

This was the gripping statement issued by WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto, who puts his title on the line against the Filipino spitfire this Sunday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In a display of confidence, the Puerto Rican boasted that Pacquiao made a mistake in fighting him.

According to a report by espnstar.com Cotto vowed to foil Pacquiao’s bid to clinch a record seventh world title in as many weight classes, hinting that the Filipino ring icon has bitten off more than he can chew.

"If he thinks he is going to win seven titles in seven weight divisions now, he has picked the wrong moment, the wrong fighter and the wrong opponent," the Puerto Rican bomber said.

"If he thinks he is going to win the seventh title against Miguel Cotto, he is very wrong," he added.

Cotto and Pacquiao will duke it out at a catchweight of 145 lbs.

Watch Pacquiao vs Cotto Live Stream! This is it now we are just over a week away from Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto, everything is on the line for both fighters here, Pacquiao, his legacy, now that he takes on his biggest test of his career, and as for Cotto there’s his pride, how will he handle defeat for a second time. There is no doubt that doesn’t Manny lack power but Miguel is much cleverer than Ricky Hatton and a lot younger than Oscar De La Hoya.

Cotto likes southpaw’s a lot, as he favours his left hand but fights out of an orthodox stance he doesn’t have to lean in to land his big left to the body especially in close quarters. Pacquiao is no doubt the faster of the two and looks in great shape(despite whatever Manuel Perez says). If Pacquiao can keep out of harms way he can win this no problem, but you can’t run for 12 rounds against Miguel.

Pacquiao vs Cotto Live Stream: TIME is on Manny Pacquiao's Side

Pacquiao vs Cotto Live Stream! Los Angeles, CA (November 5)—On the heels of his first primetime television appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live and his recognition as a 2009 Gusi Peace Prize laureate, boxing phenom Manny Pacquiao now finds himself on the cover of TIME Magazine Asia edition (see below) as part of a five page feature story on the boxing Champion that will be included in all editions (global and US market) of the magazine hitting newsstands this weekend.

With the population of Asia being the largest in the world, Pacquiao is overwhelmed with the idea of so many people seeing his face on the cover of such a prestigious magazine.

“I absolutely had no idea that when I started my career in boxing, to provide a better life for myself and my family, that I would now be where I am today and on the cover of TIME Magazine,” said Pacquiao. “A fighter’s dream is to win a world title and gain financial stability. But what is happening to me now is the most humbling experience of my life. It is a great honor for me to be the face of my people and to let everyone know we are a small but mighty country.. I have great pride for all of the Filipinos living throughout the world and it is these people that I fight for each and every time I step into the ring.”

Perhaps no boxer since Joe Louis has attracted such worldwide attention as the world grips the importance of Pacquiao as a national treasure to his people and as one of the most gifted and philanthropic fighters to grace the history of the sport. As part of TIME’s history, former champions who have appeared on the US cover include: 1923 – Jack Dempsey, 1926 – James J. Tunney, 1929 – Max Schmeling, 1931 – Primo Carnera, 1941 – Joe Louis, 1951 – Sugar Ray Robinson, 1963 – Cassius Clay, 1971 – Muhammad Ali/Joe Frazier, 1978 – Muhammad Ali, and in 1988 – Mike Tyson.

Watch PACQUIAO vs COTTO Live Stream

Watch PACQUIAO vs COTTO Live! We are only a little over a week away from the mega-fight between super-charged Manny Pacquiao and heavy-duty Miguel Cotto and the anticipation is building. Threads about the fight are everywhere. I actually overheard a couple of 40-50 year age women talking about this fight and they knew what they were talking about. You got to love that.

With all the talk what can be said that hasn’t been said? Manny’s speed is well documented. Cotto’s ability to absorb punishment is known. Both fighters tenaciously represent their countries: Philippines and Puerto Rico. I heard an analogy of the fight as a Ferrari running head on into a Hummer and I am inclined to agree with that.

This fight will be potentially as dynamic as it will be volatile and explosive. Still, at the end of the day someone has to win and someone has to lose. This fight represents a career intersection where the winner will lay claim to being one of the greatest boxers of all time. The other, though his career won’t end at the final bell of this fight, will definitely be viewed differently..

Pacquiao vs. Cotto: What Will Manny’s Excuse be When he Loses?

By Manuel Perez: I can already see the excuses flowing in from Manny Pacquiao and his loyal trainer Freddie Roach after November 14th. I’d like for it to be some straight honest excuses where Pacquiao and Roach admit that they fought a superior fighter with better talent, power and ability than him. But what I expect will be some lame excuses along the lines of ‘I wasn’t feeling good in training camp, I hurt my shoulder or I couldn’t see because of the cut.’

I really hope that Pacquiao takes his loss like a man and doesn’t come up with the excuses after the fact but I just don’t see it happening that way. A whole bunch of people who don’t know what they’re talking about are predicting that Pacquiao is going to beat Cotto on November 14th. I’m really laughing at them because I haven’t seen so many wrong people in all my life.
This is going to be really nice to see Pacquiao eating a big plate of humble pie. I hope he swallows all of it because I don’t want him with any false hopes about the loss. There’s one thing that fighters need to accept is responsibility for their losses. The worse thing they can do is start coming up with the excuses after the fact. A tell tale sign of a fighter not accepting their defeat is when they start with the excuses and want to fire their trainer.

I doubt that Pacquiao will fire Roach after Cotto fight, at least I hope he doesn’t. But I still see Pacquiao making with the excuses for the loss. It’s so sad. I hope Pacquiao doesn’t resort to this. I don’t want to lose respect for the man and I think I would if Pacquiao starts blabbering left and right with every excuse under the son to explain away his loss. I can just see him going motor mouth while being interviewed.

It will be a terrible sight if he does this. Just accept the loss, Pacquiao, and take your defeat with dignity. I’m okay with the “It just wasn’t my night” excuses, but I can’t stomach when fighters start crying about injuries, poor training camps or other things that took place during the fight. If Pacquiao can’t beat Cotto in the ring, the last thing I want to hear is a bunch of lame excuses.

A loss to Cotto won’t be such a bad thing. At least Pacquiao know where he’s at in terms of talent. It’s better to know how good you are in reality rather than having a mental image in your head that isn’t true. Once Cotton finishes beating the tar out of Pacquiao, his self image will be adjusted to the point where he has a more accurate picture of his true ability – I hope.

If Pacquiao starts with the excuses then that tells me that he hasn’t accepted the loss and is looking for a scapegoat for target to put the blame on. There’s nothing wrong with losing. Pacquiao shouldn’t worry about it when it happens. It’s part of the game and every fighter has to accept it and not try to explain it away with excuses.

Fight's off if Cotto weighs over 147 lb

MANILA, Philippines - There’s just one thing that can keep the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto fight from happening, and that’s if the champion from Puerto Rico weighs in at over 147 lb.

“That’s the highest we could go (147 pounds),” Pacquiao’s chief trainer, Freddie Roach, was quoted as saying in an Internet report that came out yesterday.

Pacquiao and Cotto are fighting at a catchweight of 145 lb even if the 27-year-old Puerto Rican has agreed to stake his WBO welterweight (147 lb) crown.

At the start of the negotiations, Team Pacquiao tried to drag Cotto down to as low as 143 lb, but the latter said he can’t go lower than 145, and the fight was sealed.

“ I would call the fight off if he comes in weighing more than that,” Roach also said, meaning Cotto will have to make sure or even die trying to make the catchweight.

Or face the severe consequences, like losing all his purse, or even facing a legal battle.

Based on reports, Cotto will be fined $1 million for every pound in excess of 145. He can weigh in at 147, pay Pacquiao $2 million and go on and fight the Filipino pound-for-pound champion.

But if Cotto weighs just a fraction over 147, Roach said he’s pulling the plug on what could be or what should be the biggest fight of the year.

In the fight contract that either fighter who exceeds 145 lb will have to pay a fine, but it’s only today that the details had come out.

“We’re just protecting Manny,” Mike Koncz, Pacquiao’s adviser, had said.

Pacquiao is three days into training at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood after spending more than 30 days training in three different gyms in the Philippines.

Before he boarded the plane to Los Angeles last Saturday, Pacquiao walked around 150 lb, and was happy to report in his regular column that he still gets to eat as much as he wants.

Cotto, on the other hand, must be bleeding to get down in weight. In New York, during the press tour last September, Cotto said he was at 160, and Pacquiao’s conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, liked what he heard.

“It means he has a lot more work to do than us in losing weight,” said Ariza.
